FAQs

If you don't find the answer to your question here, please feel free to email us.

How exactly does Page Street work?

All members are given an access code to our smart keypad entry (which also tracks usage). You are welcome to come at any time that's convenient for you and choose a free cafe table or seat at the bar to work.

Feel free to bring your lunch or a snack. If you'd like to make your own coffee or tea, you'll find a cappuccino machine and electric tea kettle, as well as complimentary coffee and tea (the good stuff).

Everything other than 12:30 pm until 1:15 pm, which is our communal lunch time, is designated quiet time. If you'd like to talk with another writer, or use your phone, we ask you to go outside so others can continue to work.

Can I leave my computer?

We do not recommend that you leave your computer (or any other valuables) at Page Street. You are, however, welcome to leave books, notes, etc. on our shelves or in one of the drawers below.

What's the parking like?

The parking is relatively easy (for SF). The streets closest to Page Street have a 3-hour limit, unless you have an S sticker.

Page Street is walkable from the Civic Center BART stop.

Is there wifi?

Absolutely! We have our own dedicated wifi.

How do the public readings Work?

Every month or so, we'll take advantage of our cafe atmosphere (and bar!) and hold an open-to-the-public reading of our member's writing. Full-time members will be given priority consideration for reading slots.

Is the neighborhood safe?

Yes, the neighborhood is safe. That said, San Francisco is an urban environment, and we recommend not leaving valuables in your car and being aware when you walk on the street, particularly at night.

What are your covid protocols?

Currently, we are requiring all members of Page Street to show proof of being fully vaccinated. Depending upon the state of things in March, we may also ask for a negative Covid test.

We will follow all the health and safety mandates in place in the city of San Francisco. Currently, mask wearing at Page Street is optional for those who are vaccinated.

Additionally, Page Street has excellent ventilation, with windows that open and several ceiling fans.

How do we pay our membership fee?

If you are accepted as a member of Page Street, we will ask for your credit card information, and you will automatically be billed each month through Stripe.

If your credit card is declined, you will have 5 days to provide a new one. After that, your smart keypad access code will no longer be valid.

You may cancel your membership anytime with 30 days notice.
